Let’s
Get
Real.

It’s past time for an acceptable solution to our 14-year fight for justice. And it is time to tell our story.

Homeowners’ Nightmare

We are the 92 homeowners of Centennial, the largest APCHA-regulated affordable housing condominium complex in downtown Aspen. We have been working tirelessly, but unsuccessfully, for 14 years to resolve the challenges we face due to the poor design and shoddy construction of our homes. Our situation is dire. We need the City’s help. Our hope is to spark a productive dialogue with the community and the City that will result in realistic solutions to this unjust debacle.

Challenges >>

Our challenges have ranged from understanding the basis of our water intrusion problems to continually handling emergency repairs and struggling to get the City's attention to help resolve these problems. Read about our challenges.

History >>

The largest affordable housing project in the Aspen City limits, Centennial was built in less than six months in 1984. We began discovering water intrusion problems three years later and have been living with the results of shoddy construction ever since. Click for a timeline.

Solutions >>

From the beginning, the HOA’s goal has been a workable solution, not an angry, expensive legal trial. Unfortunately the conversation has been drawn out for 14 years causing the cost of repairs to reach $9-11 million. Read more about proposed solutions.

Myth vs. Reality >>

We have consistently had to clarify the misconceptions about what is really happening versus what people think is happening at Centennial. They are in complete contrast with one another. Read more about the truth.
